So you’re thinking about getting married in Los Cabos? Amazing.
With its epic coastline, golden sunsets, and that laid-back luxury vibe, Cabo has everything you need for an unforgettable destination wedding.

But before you dive into planning, let’s talk timing—because it really matters.

As a wedding photographer based in Mexico, I’ve captured celebrations in Cabo all year round. I’ve seen it all: perfect skies, surprise storms, and everything in between. So here’s what I’ve learned to help you choose the right season for your big day:

November to March – The Sweet Spot

If I had to recommend one season again and again, it’s this one. The weather is a dream—sunny, dry, and also perfectly warm (think 75–85°F / 24–29°C).

You get clear blue skies, zero humidity, and some of the best golden-hour light for photos. In other words, PICK THESE MONTHS.

That said, this is also the most popular time to get married in Cabo. So if you’re eyeing specific venues or vendors, you’ll want to lock them in early.

Still, it’s worth it. Plus, bonus: you might even see whales breaching off the coast during your ceremony. Not kidding.

April to August – HOT. Like… really hot.

Now, here’s the thing. From April through August, Cabo gets seriously hot. We’re talking 90–100°F+ (32–38°C), full sun, and heavy humidity. It’s the kind of heat that makes you want to live in the pool.

But don’t count this season out just yet.

If you plan smart—think sunset ceremonies and shaded receptions—you can still have an incredible wedding with that rich, dramatic summer light.

In addition - This season is a bit quieter, and some resorts offer better rates, which can give your budget some breathing room.

If you’re going for it, here’s how to beat the heat:

  • Choose lightweight outfits (no heavy fabrics!)
  • Plan cocktail hour indoors or in the shade
  • Stay super hydrated
  • Hire a glam team that stays with you most of the wedding day so you can touch up

August to September – Hurricane Season

Let’s be honest—this is the trickiest time of year in Cabo. It’s hurricane season, which means the weather can be unpredictable.

Some years are totally calm and gorgeous. Others? Not so much.

If you go this route, make sure you have a solid backup plan for rain.

That said, if you're a little adventurous, this season does come with perks:

  • Lush tropical greenery
  • Fewer crowds
  • Beautiful soft light, especially on cloudy days (which photographers love!)

Just keep in mind: weather can change fast, and flexibility is key.

Photographer Tip: Light Sets the Tone

Each season in Cabo brings its own unique light and mood. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Winter: Soft, romantic, and super crisp
  • Spring: Bright, fresh, and clean
  • Summer: Bold sunsets and golden tones (and also heat!)
  • Fall: Moody skies, lush landscapes, and a bit of mystery

Whatever the vibe, I’ll use the light to your advantage—trust me, we’ll make it magic.

So, what’s the best time to get married in Cabo?

Honestly, it depends on what you’re prioritizing.

If perfect weather and stunning light are your must-haves, go with November to March.
If you’re open to warmer temps and want more flexibility or better rates, April to August can still work beautiful with the right prep.

However if you’re drawn to the quieter, moodier vibe of late summer? August to September could surprise you—in a good way—as long as you plan for the possibility of rain.
